Primer IM is a waterborne primer, applied on dense substrates prior to the application of waterborne dispersion coatings.
Product Application – Primer IM
Substrate preparation:
Application conditions:
Application method:
Primer IM functions by deep penetration and consolidation of the mineral substrate, forming a stable and uniform base for subsequent waterborne dispersion coatings.
Drying and overcoating:
Cleaning:
Primer IM is a waterborne micro-emulsion primer engineered for dense, low-absorption mineral substrates such as concrete, cast concrete, dense masonry, and similar surfaces where standard primers may not penetrate or key adequately.
Apply by brush or roller before any Intelligent Membranes waterborne dispersion coating. Primer IM consolidates the substrate surface, reduces porosity variation, and improves the adhesion of the overlying liquid membrane for a uniform, fully bonded finish.
Suitable for concrete floors and walls, precast panels, dense calcium silicate board, and similar materials. Coverage: approx. 1 gallon per 100-150 sq ft depending on substrate density. Allow to dry fully before applying topcoat.
Use as part of the Intelligent Membranes system specification on any project where the substrate is unusually dense or smooth-faced.
Pairs with: Passive Purple, Airtight White, Waterproof Blue, The GOAT.
