Application
Product application:
- Purpose: Provide a seamless, fully waterproof and damp-proof barrier for structural protection and wet-area tanking, for bathrooms and wet rooms.
- Substrates: Suitable for concrete, masonry, cement boards, plasterboard, timber, and other stable building surfaces.
Typical areas of use:
- Bathrooms, showers, wet rooms, and prefabricated pods (behind tiles).
- Basements, retaining walls, and foundations for damp-proofing.
- Floors and walls prior to applying final finishes.
- Behind coping stones and other exposed masonry to prevent water ingress.
Preparation:
- Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, and loose material.
- Fill gaps and cracks before application.
- Prime highly absorbent substrates with a compatible Intelligent Membranes primer if required.
Application method:
- Apply by brush, roller, or spray in even coats.
- Use a minimum of two coats for optimum waterproofing performance.
- Apply second coat at 90° to the first for full coverage.
- Maintain manufacturer’s recommended wet film thickness.
Conditions:
- Ambient and substrate temperature: Minimum +5°C during application and curing.
- Protect from rain and frost until fully cured.
- Allow to cure before tiling, rendering, or applying finishes.
Clean-up:
- Wash tools and equipment with water immediately after use.
Description
Poseidon is a water-based, VOC-free, liquid-applied waterproofing membrane for wet-area tanking and damp-proof applications. It creates a seamless, flexible barrier that bonds directly to concrete, masonry, cement boards, and plasterboard — protecting behind tiles, over floors, and on walls to prevent moisture ingress and rising damp.
Ideal for bathrooms, showers, wet rooms, basements, and external surfaces where a reliable, long-lasting waterproofing solution is needed. Poseidon cures to a crack-bridging, flexible barrier that accommodates normal substrate movement without failure.
Coverage: approximately 1.0–1.5 kg/m² per coat (two coats recommended for full waterproofing). Apply by brush, roller, or spray to clean, dust-free, structurally sound surfaces. Allow each coat to cure before tiling or applying subsequent coats.
Works alongside Waterproof Blue (liquid DPM), Primer IM for porous substrates, and Supergrip Primer where additional adhesion is required.
Independently tested to US standards by Infinita Lab: ASTM C627 (Robinson floor test — passes cycles 1–10), ASTM E96 water-vapor transmission (0.25 perm), and ASTM D5116 (VOC emissions, 0.00 mg/m3 at 96 hours). Meets ANSI A118.10 and ANSI A118.12 (High-Performance crack isolation).
