Application

Apply Lime Prime by low pressure or with airless spray equipment with just one layer approximately 100 gr/m², depending on the porosity of the substrate.

  • Shake before use.
  • Remove dust and all friable parts from the substrate.
  • The application of Lime Prime does not avoid the need for substrate preparation.
  • Apply Lime Prime by low pressure spray or with airless spray equipment.
  • Apply only 1 layer, approximately 100 gr/m², depending on the porosity of the substrate.
  • Allow to dry before application of water-born dispersion coatings.
  • Do not dilute.
  • Apply only on porous substrates.
  • Minimal application temperature : +5° C.
  • To be applied between +5° C to +35° C.
  • Do not apply in sunlight.
  • Clean tools with water.

Suitable for use on:

  • Lime-based substrates.
  • Older dusty substrates to consolidate.
  • Water sensitive substrates such as gypsum board and gypsum plaster.

Description

Lime Prime is a waterborne acrylic ultrafine primer engineered for porous, low-cohesion substrates that need consolidation before application of airtight or vapor control coatings. By penetrating and binding the substrate matrix, it dramatically improves coating adhesion and eliminates the surface defects that cause airtightness failures on heritage and retrofit projects.

Substrates and coverage: Designed for lime render, lime plaster, older dusty masonry, calcium silicate stone, porous concrete block, and gypsum board. Apply by low-pressure spray or airless spray equipment at approximately 100 g/m2 (approx. 0.01 gal per 10 sq ft) in a single coat. Minimum application temperature +5 degrees C (41 degrees F); apply between +5 degrees C and +35 degrees C, not in direct sunlight.

Companion products: Works as the prep coat before Passive Purple (internal vapor control and airtightness membrane), Airtight White (fire-rated vapor control), Passive Purple External (facade airtightness), and Passive Purple Retrofit. SKU: IM/00IPR/10, 10 kg container.
