Primary Function and Risk Mitation
The Heavy Duty Potted Steel-Core Bollard is designed for demanding industrial and commercial environments where vehicle interaction with buildings, infrastructure and pedestrian routes presents a significant operational risk.
The hot dip galvanised mild steel core provides structural strength, while the linear low-density polyethylene cover delivers a durable, low maintenance external finish suitable for high traffic operational areas.
The bollard is intended to:
Loading Bay and HGV Protection
A primary application is external level-access loading doors, where HGV trailers and articulated vehicles regularly reverse towards the building facade.
In these environments the bollard:
This makes it suitable for:
Visibility and Safety Zoning
The integrated 50 mm reflective silver band enhances visibility in daylight and reduced lighting conditions, supporting sites operating extended or continuous shifts.
Five standard colour options enable alignment with site-specific traffic management and zoning systems:
This allows facilities managers to colour-code protection in accordance with internal risk assessments and operational layouts.
Installation and Environmental Suitability
The cast-in potted installation method provides a permanent fixing within concrete substrates.

By combining structural strength, enhanced visibility and reduced maintenance requirements, the Heavy Duty Potted Steel-Core Bollard provides reliable fixed impact protection in high risk operational environments.
The Heavy Duty Potted Steel-Core Bollard is a robust, impact-absorbing protection solution designed for demanding industrial and commercial environments.
The structural core is manufactured from high quality mild steel and hot dip galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461 to provide long-term corrosion resistance. This galvanised steel core delivers the primary structural strength of the bollard, ensuring durability in both internal and external applications.
The bollard is finished with a polymer cover kit manufactured from linear low-density polyethylene. This material provides a durable outer layer with inherent flexibility, allowing the cover to absorb and dissipate minor impact energy while maintaining structural integrity. The polymer sleeve also eliminates the need for repainting, reducing ongoing maintenance requirements and improving whole-life cost performance.
Engineered for heavy duty applications, the bollard is designed to withstand impact from material handling equipment and heavy goods vehicles. By absorbing collision forces at ground level, it helps protect floor anchors, concrete slabs and adjacent infrastructure from structural damage.
A 50 mm reflective silver band is incorporated to enhance visibility in operational environments, including low light conditions or 24 hour facilities. Five standard colour options are available, allowing the bollard to integrate with site-specific safety zoning and warehouse colour coding systems.
The potted installation method allows the bollard to be drill-installed or cast-in. For cast-in applications, a universal socket depth of approximately 500 mm provides a secure and permanent fixing within the concrete substrate.
Supplied with three Rawl R-SPL-10120/40 Safety Plus Anchors, M10 x 120 mm, for secure mechanical fixing where required.

For reference, the bolt-down variant of this bollard design has been PAS 13 tested. The potted version has not been tested under PAS 13 due to testing constraints associated with the installation method.
